THE PHOTOGRAPHS
From Celia's Note in the 2027 Calendar
"Among my possessions are folders full of fellow humans' words that I have collected over the years. They span from the famous to the unknown. Today, among these papers, I came upon this quote by Helen Keller: 'The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.' Oh my!
I also have collected a rather haphazard pile of Post-its and other similar sized bits of paper - reminders to live life happily and be my best. They are sometimes just my own thoughts. On one I've written "Note to self - above all, be kind."; on another, "Listening is the willingness to change"; and then a succinct quote by writer and poet Mary Oliver: 'Instructions for living life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.'
I always have been hungry to make sense of this life I've been given, and to learn and grow. I believe that my making photos all these years has been fueled in part by the desire to see, to experience, and to expand my understanding as I drink in the miracles all around me."
